The focus of the second round of Monte Carlo Master 2022 is the competition between the last two champions: Tsitsipas and Fognini. Thought this will be a match that promises tension and drama, everything is relatively simple and one -way.
Tsitsipas did not seem to face any difficulties. The 23-year-old winner won quickly after two sets, respectively with 6-3 and 6-0.
Even in the first game of Set 1, Tsitsipas won the break. Despite losing the break in the fifth game, the defending champion reclaimed the break in the 8th game. In the next game, the No. 3 seed did not make any mistakes to finish Set 1.
Set 2 significantly easier for Tsitsipas because Fognini showed surrender. The Greek tennis player has the 11th consecutive set at Monte Carlo Master and continues his journey to protect his title.
