Remember, in addition to the 21 Grand Slam record, Nadal is also the 3rd year old Australian championship expanded after Rosewall in 1971 and 1972 and Federer in 2018. The great things that Nadal is having, unexpectedly, coming just a few months after he admitted fear his splendid career could end because of injury.
Injury led Rafael Nadal to miss the Wimbledon and US Open. But by luck (Novak Djokovic was eliminated from Australian Open), and especially the energy and extraordinary talent, Nadal was crowned.

After 4 final defeats in 2012, 2014, 2017 and 2019, Nadal now won the second Australian Open championship in his career, 13 years after defeating Federer in a decisive match in 2009.
