On June 16, Murray had the first match on the pitch after 3 years. Accordingly, the Scottish player defeated Benoit Paire with a score of 2-0 (6-3 and 6-2) within the framework of the first round of Queen's Club 2021. However, his joy could not last.

Last night, Murray had a Matteo Berrettini encounter in the second round. Before the opponent was ranked the No. 1 seed of the tournament and was in high form, the Scottish star lost quickly with the score of 0-2, thereby officially saying goodbye to Queen's Club.

In Set 1, Murray started quite well when Berrettini had to save up to 2 break-points in Game 2. However, the number 1 former in the world could not keep the form for too long. Coming to Game 9, he let the opponent win an important break and close set 1 with a 3-6 defeat.

Set 2, Murray continued to let Berrettini dominate. The No. 1 seed quickly won the break in Game 2 and then takes the lead 3-0. Despite great efforts, Murray only won 3 games in this set. At game 9, he lost to the opponent and accepted the racket with a defeat of 3-6.

Losing 0-2, Murray was officially eliminated from Queen's Club right from the second round. Speaking at the press conference after the match, the Scottish player could not hide the disappointment:

“I had an impressive start in the opening match. However, my performance today is not good. This is what I need to improve for the next tournament.

The truth is that I still have a little problem because of groin injury. Hopefully, from now on to Wimbledon, all will return to normal state. ”
