After the US Open 2020 championship, Dominic Thiem is expected to have a strong step forward and squeezed into the new “Big 3” of the felt ball village. However, the career path of the Austrian tennis player became increasingly going down. The main reason comes from the persistent injuries he encountered.

Due to the wrist problem in Wimbledon, Dominic Thiem missed the rest of the 2021 season. As expected, the Austrian player will re -export at Mubadala World Tennis Championship at the end of last year. Even so, just before the competition, Thiem withdrew from the tournament due to not being physically enough.
Next, Thiem continued to withdraw from 3 more tournaments: ATP Cup 2022, ATP 250 in Sydney and Australia expanded 2022. If everything happened as planned, Austrian player will officially re -export at Cordoba Open – ATP 250 tournament held in Argentina. However, once again, he had to go back to re -export.
This time, Thiem was involved in a finger injury (not related to the previous wrist injury). Not only withdrawing from Cordoba Open, he also had to spend three other prizes, Argentina Open, Rio Open and Chile Open. The current goal of Austrian tennis player Indian Wells Masters, Masters 1000 started on March 7.

Sharing about the latest injury, Thiem shared: “My training process in Vienna took place very well. I also felt very happy when the wrist injury was completely recovered.
However, unfortunately, I encountered another small injury in Santiago. This makes me temporarily stopped practicing.
After 7 months of competition, re -export has never been easy. I will follow the doctor's advice and after a few days of rest, I will start training again next week. I need a certain period of training on the field before re -export, ”Thiem said.
