In 2019, Covid-19 epidemic broke out in China and became a global pandemic. Since then, tennis events in the country have been canceled or delayed. Recently, ATP continued to announce the cancellation of 6 tournaments in China in 2022, including Master 1000 in Shanghai.

Shortly thereafter, ATP also announced 6 replacement tournaments in San Diego, Seoul, Tel Aviv, Florence, Gijon and Naples. These 6 events are in the ATP 250 category, which takes place from September 19 to October 23. Meanwhile, 2 250 prizes in Astana and Tokyo have been upgraded to 500.

After the above tournaments, all the remaining events of ATP Tour 2022 will take place according to the original schedule. In particular, the two most notable tournaments are Next Gen ATP Finals in Milan and Nitto ATP Finals in Turin.
