In Australia expanding 2025, the Learn Tien is one of the youngest impressive young players. He started his journey in the qualifying round when overcoming Gregoire Barrere, Juan Pablo Ficovich and Jozef Kovalik to participate in the main round.
In the first round, Tien struggled to overcome Argentina's Camilo Ugo Carabelli after 5 sets. The earthquake came in the second round when the Vietnamese -original player defeated the runner -up of the tournament, Daniil Medvedev. After 5 sets, he won 6-3; 7-6; 6-7; 1-6; 7-6. After that, Tien continued to overcome Corentin Moutet and stopped in the fourth round when losing to Sonego.
Biography and career
Learner Tien was born on December 2, 2005 in California, USA. Both his parents are Vietnamese but have moved to the US to settle down. Tien plays tennis since childhood and excelled in the tournaments for teenagers. He participated in the Youth Development Program of the US Tennis Federation (USTA).
Learner Tien has started playing professionally since 2023. Since then, he has won three Challenger titles, has 4 times in Grand Slam, once reached the quarterfinals of ATP 250 and won the runner -up Next Gen Gen ATP Finals 2024.
Last November, Tien achieved the highest ranking of his career when he ranked 114th on the ATP rankings. With the expansion of Australia, the Vietnamese -original player is expected to significantly improve his achievements.
