According to British media, this injury also caused Raducanu to withdraw from the last WTA tour tournament in 2022, Transylvania Open. The tournament will take place from October 10-16 in Guadalajara, Mexico.
Raducanu's injury caused the UK's headache in the upcoming list of competition at Billie Jean King Cup 2022. The 59th women's team will start from November 8 in Glasgow, Scotland.
Billie Jean King Cup has the participation of 12 countries, including: UK, USA, Italy, Switzerland, Spain, Poland, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Canada, Belgium, Australia and Kazakhstan. England captain Anne Keothavong is hoping that Raducanu can recover to participate in Glasgow next month.
The US Open 2021 champion is expected to be on the list of 12 names of the English Tel at Billie Jean King Cup 2022. However, Raducanu's team feels that the 19 player should not attend this tournament. Instead, she should rest to focus in 2023 after a difficult 2022 season.
This year, Raducanu has continuously dropped on the WTA rankings because of the unfinished results in the tournaments she participated in. Notably, Raducanu did not participate in a final from the US Open 2021 where she won the championship. Currently, Raducanu is ranked 67 in the world and certainly not eligible to attend ATP Finals later this year.
