Medvedev defeated Rune in the final of Rome Masters, winning the first title on the ground

Daniil Medvedev is not appreciated on the ground. The Russian tennis player has repeatedly claimed to hate this yard. Because of that, before Rome Masters this year, he has never won any title on the red yard.

However, in the 2023 season, Medvedev showed a clear progress in the clay court season. Accordingly, the Russian player successfully saved a break point in game 11 before winning the break in game 12 to win 7-5.

In the end, Medvedev defeated Rune with a score of 7-5, 7-5 to officially crowned at Rome Masters 2023. Notably, he has reached 20 titles in his career, and these 20 titles come from 20 different cities.
