After nearly a month of a break, Jannik Sinner returned to play in Cincinnati Masters – where he was the championship. The Italian player started the campaign this year with the fastest victory at his career at ATP, when defeating Daniel Elahi Galan 6-1, 6-1 in just 59 minutes in the opening match.
After the impressive launch, Sinner had the encounter with Gabriel Diallo (Canada) in the third round. Entering Set 1, the Italian player let the opponent lead 0-2, then won 6 consecutive games to win with a score of 6-2. However, to Set 2, a rare situation happened: the match was interrupted in the second game when the fire alarm in the 1899 Club was heard.

Sinner smiled at this strange incident. Journalist Ben Rothenberg shared: “The power source is still unstable, and now it seems to have a fire alarm in the southern area of Cincinnati Open.
After a few minutes of pause, the two players agreed to continue playing between the bell and the flashing light. They play four more points before the alarm ends. When Sinner nodded to the match, the audience applauded.
The scenario in Set 2 was extremely tense when the two players had to pull together in the brain tie-break series. Sinner was led 4-2 and somewhat regained the game after changing the field. However, Diallo takes advantage of the number one broken seed error to get the first set point. The Canadian player missed the opportunity to polish on the net, helping Sinner to have Match Point and close the match with a direct serve.

In the end, Sinner defeated Diallo with a score of 6-2, 7-6 (6) and officially won tickets to the 4th round of Cincinnati Masters. Here, he will face Adrian Mannarino, who previously defeated the No. 13 Tommy Paul seed.
