Defeating Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal has officially won the Rome Masters 2021. Not only that, he also leveled the record to win many of Djokovic's most 1000 ATP Masters (36 times).
One day after the dream final, Nadal continued to welcome another good news. On the latest updated ATP (May 17), the “crew king” continued to stand in 3rd place. This helped him set up an important milestone in his career.
Accordingly, Nadal has officially reached 817 weeks in the Top 10 World ATP rankings. This achievement helped him overcome the legendary Jimmy Connors (816 weeks) to rise to the second position in the list of players who hold the top 10 longest. The Spanish star is still inferior to the leading position of Roger Federer 131 weeks.
However, Nadal's achievements are still more impressive. Specifically, since the first time in the top 10 ATP rankings on April 25, 2005, the Spanish tennis player has not once dropped out of the leading group. This figure does not include 22 weeks of the world chart “freezing” by the influence of Covid-19 pandemic.

Last November, Nadal officially rushed the record for consecutive weeks in the top 10 ATP rankings. The old record belongs to the legendary Jimmy Connors, who has 789 weeks in the top. Currently, the Spanish star continues to extend this impressive achievement.
